Cheating Women Seek Passion Outside of Marriage

The study, conducted using data from the spousal cheating site AshleyMadison.com, observed 100 women between the ages of 35 and 45. The collected data revealed that cheating women often had little desire to end their marriages. What they were looking for, however, was sex and renewed passion.

Eric Anderson, a British professor and chief science officer at AshleyMadison.com, noted how sexual monotony is likely the reason that cheating women seek sexual satisfaction outside of their marriage. Emotions had less to do with it. “This is because we get used to and bored of the same body,” noted Anderson.

However, another reason women cheat and seek sexual satisfaction outside of a marriage could be indicative of larger emotional issues in a relationship. According to Dr. Bill Doherty of the University of Minnesota, women did not seek divorce in situations such as these because divorce would be emotionally draining, and the women were merely seeking passion. Doherty explained to The Huffington Post that to feel attractive and to feel lust is a basic human desire, and is especially important for women. In long-term relationships, the mind and the heart are oftentimes more important than a body’s sexual fulfillment.

On the other hand, differing studies show how long-term relationships can be more sexually exciting, even, than new ones. According to a publication of Oxford Journals, a 2010 study proved neural correlates between long-term intense romantic love and the release of chemicals in the brain associated with desire and sexual fulfillment. Responses further correlated with high rates of sexual frequency and were “consistent with results from early-stage romantic love studies.”

If you suspect that your partner is cheating and are considering divorce, the most important step is to seek the counsel of a legal professional. Contact an DuPage County divorce attorney today.
